Guyana
Woof and Arooo!
Having left Kazakhstan, my new home is in tropical Georgetown, the capital of Guyana.
Guyana’s deepest, darkest rainforest remains almost inaccessible: I’d better not get lost.
Originally colonised by the Netherlands, Guyana was a British colony for over 200 years, gaining independence on 26 May 1966; it remains a member of the Commonwealth of Nations.
Guyana is the only South American nation in which English is the official language.

However, everybody here knows Guyanese Creole (English-based with Dutch, Arawakan and Caribbean influences).
Next time I have a bath, I hope I won’t be saying ‘dis wata de col col’ (this water is rather chilly).
If I spend too long sniffing in the bushes, I might hear ‘come now now’ (get your little behind here quick) and, if I eat too much, I’ll have ‘belly wuk’ (an upset tummy). Meanwhile, I’m ‘getting through’.

Don’t forget to drop tasty treats on the floor for me…
I’ll be waiting!
